Our company's kickoff for the year 2011 was held at Davao City, lucky me! I've heard a lot of good words about Davao, one of which is that it has been ranked second Cleanest and Greenest City in the Philippines, that's why I was really stoked to get my feet into this city already.
Our first night was spent at the Marco Polo Hotel. One of the things that you'll definitely notice in Davao, aside from its cleanliness and no-smoking-anywhere rule, is that you can count in one hand the number of tall buildings in the area, and Marco Polo is one of them. It is located in the heart of the city, just in front of Ateneo de Davao and 3 minutes away from Gaisano Mall.
Then Pearl Farm Beach Resort came into the picture and I died and went to Pearl Farm Heaven! This resort lies in a secluded island—Samal island-- off the coast of Davao. It can be reached by taking a 45 minute ferryboat from the city . From the time you step off the boat and onto the resort's wooden jetty—where a guest relations officer meets you with a smile and a complimentary tropical drink— there is nothing else to do but relax, return the smile and enjoy yourslef.
